Smoked Hefeweizen - 1 Hour Recipe Kit

$44.99

Campfire smokiness with banana, clove and light malty sweetness

Inspired by beers such as: Dovetail Rauchweizen, Hecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Weizen

Also known as Rauchweizen in German, a Smoked Hefeweizen combines the characteristics of a wheat beer with the smoky flavors derived from smoked malt. Rauchweizen beers have a hazy, golden to amber appearance and a creamy white head. They offer a complex flavor profile with notes of banana, clove, and a prominent smokiness that evokes campfire or bacon-like aromas. This recipe uses Sugar Creek Rauchmalz, an alder wood-smoked malt made in Indiana, as a steeping grain.

Simply Brewing® 1 Hour Recipe Kits contain all the ingredients for new and experienced brewers to easily brew 2.5 gallons of beer in a simple, 1-hour brewday with the use of a 1 Hour Equipment Kit and any 10+ quart stovetop pot. The brew process involves dissolving malt extract into heated water, steeping bags of milled grain (if applicable), boiling and/or steeping bags of hop pellets, and cooling the wort (unfermented beer) in a sink to be added to your fermentation vessel. The wort is then topped off with chilled water for an even faster cool, and the yeast is added. All this including cleanup takes just 1 hour!
